We all want to start Da Moment, and with a small family you begin to crave Da Moments.
It is for this reason Zante and myself decided that we were going to have more Da Moments with our kids. COVID looked like it was going to put a hamper on this. Flying and staying at hotels was going to be ruled out, but we live in Africa and we have amazing places right on our doorstep.
Say hello to camping, but with small Kids, this could be a challenge.
But what do I know about camping. Well I was a springbok scout, and spent many days hiking through reserves sleeping under the stars, in tents and if we were lucky, in chalets. I am Portuguese and as you know we are explorers and always up for trying out new things. So this gives me the confidence to take on the challenge.
What about my 2IC - 2nd In Command. Super Women Zante, will tell you how she is Afrikaans and that her people did the groot Trek from Cape Town to Pretoria. So she is keen on this challenge.
First thing, find a family friendly trailer to be able to accommodate this small family. This included 3 month old Zaria, which was still being bottle fed.
With pricing ranging from “ok” to “does that come with a butler”, we discovered it was very reasonable to rent and in doing so we can find the right one for us. One thing you will find is that campers or trailers are like chocolate, same awsome taste but everyone has their favourite.
Secondly where to go? And more importantly how do we find these places?
This was an interesting journey and one that took us to a caravan club called Wapadridders
This club already has locations that they go to, and we would be able to discover these places and find out new places.
Join us as we start to create Da Moments, while discovering amazing places and honing in on our family camper.
